Susana Frazao-Pinheiro


Susana is currently programme director, Healthcare Management at University College London, where she teaches and has been developing new programmes and modulesat the School of Management, School of Pharmacy and Medical School.

She is Committee member of the Oxford Business Alumni London Chapter and is scientific advisor and associate on healthcare technology and innovation, and on emergencies and epidemics (MPP), Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. Susana combines almost 20 years of work in global health and infectious diseases from various perspectives (academia/research, policy, advisory and entrepreneurship) in the UK, USA, Portugal, Switzerland, Angola, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau.

Susana has acted as analytical project manager and post-doc Fellow in a Phase-I clinical trial for an HIV vaccine at Oxford. She has worked as consultant with the UN since 2006 at the Department for Peacekeeping Operations in NYC, UNDP in Geneva and Luanda and UNAIDS in Luanda, and with Ministries of Health. She was founder of a digital health start-up, and co-founder of IES-Social Business School, Portugal and of Oxford Entrepreneurs.

She holds a D.Phil in Clinical Medicine (HIV Immunology) and an MBA as Skoll scholar, both from the University of Oxford and BSc and post-graduation in Tropical Medical Microbiology, Portugal.
